10 Important Difference between Cell organelles and Cell Inclusions

Cell organelles and Cell Inclusions

Cell organelles are Specialized Structures within a cell that perform Specific Functions. Examples of cell organelles are the nucleus, which contains the cell’s genetic material, the mitochondria, which produce energy for the cell, and the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, which are involved in protein and lipid metabolism etc.

Cell Inclusions are non-membrane bound structures found within a cell. Examples of cell Inclusions are lipids, pigments, and crystals. These inclusions are not involved in the normal functioning of the cell, but may provide structural support or serve as energy reserves.

Difference between Cell organelles and Cell Inclusions

Cell organelles Cell Inclusions
1Cell organelles are membrane-bound compartments of the cellCell Inclusions are non-living materials in the cytoplasm.
2They are cytoplasmic structures Cell Inclusions are cytoplasmic or nuclear structures
3Cell organelles are capable of growth and division.Cell Inclusions do not grow or divide.
4Cell organelles are a part of the physical structure of a cell. Cell Inclusions are not a part of the physical structure of a cell.
5Cell organelles form the metabolic machinery of a cell. Cell Inclusions are products of metabolism in a cell.
6Cell organelles occur exclusively in eukaryotes .Cell Inclusions are found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes.
7Cell organelles are formed in the cell itself. Cell Inclusions are synthesized in the cell itself or engulfed from outside.
8Cell organelles perform a unique function inside the cell. Cell Inclusions are formed as  a result of functioning of the cell organelles.
9Cell organelles are the permanent structure of a cell. Cell Inclusions are either temporary or permanent structures of a cell.
10Cell organelles include Nucleus, Mitochondria, chloroplasts, golgi apparatus, lysosomes, etc. Cell Inclusions include granules, pigments and various other secretory products.
