Connective Tissue 

Definition:

Connective tissues, support and connect different tissues and organs of the body. They are widely distributed in every part of the body.

Structure of Connective Tissues

All forms of connective tissue are composed of:

  • Extracellular fibres
  • Ground substance
  • Stationary and migrating cells.

Depending on the local structural requirements, proportions of these components vary from one part of the body to another.

The classification of connective tissue is as follows:

  2. Dense Connective Tissue
  3. Specialised Connective Tissue

Functions of Connective Tissue
