- The organism does not need the male and female reproductive organs. Plants do not waste its energy to produce male and female gametes.
- Spore reproduction is quick and multiplies many at once, hence the population will increase and survival chances are high.
- Spores are usually light weight and they get easily dispersed through winds giving them more variation and thus better chances of survival.
- Spores are covered by thick walls to prevent dehydration under unfavorable conditions.
- They remain dormant till favourable conditions are available.Only in case of a favorable condition, the thick wall breaks down to produce a new organism.
- Spores are produced in several numbers at a time which can germinate at a time.Large numbers of spores are produced in one sporangium. Thus numerous plants can be grown.
