Why is the Removal of Faeces from the Alimentary Canal not considered to be Excretion

Excretion is removal of metabolic or nitrogenous waste products which are formed by chemical reactions occurring in the cells.

The removal of feces (defecation) from the body is the removal of undigested or indigestible substances from the alimentary canal through the anus.

Since, fecal matter is not produced by metabolism, removal of feces cannot be considered as excretion.
