• Urine production depends upon how much dissolved waste,especially nitrogenous waste like urea and nitric acid and salts to be excreted from the body.
• When there is more quantity of dissolved waste in the body,more  quantity of water is required to excrete them. So the amount of urine produced increases.

• The amount of urine largely depends on the amount of water reabsorbed. The amount of
• water reabsorbed by nephron tubules depends on How water in excess is in the body removed.
• When water is abundant in the body tissues,large quantities of dilute urine is excreted out.
• When water is less in quantities in the body tissues,a small quantity of concentrated urine is excreted.

1. Antidiuretic hormone (ADH)
2. Aldosterone

Antidiuretic hormone (ADH)

•  It is released by the posterior pituitary gland.
• ADH performs the most important role in regulating urine volume.
• ADH acts on DCT and collecting ducts to promote water reabsorption and prevent water loss.
• If ADH is  not present it will result in polyuria.

Aldosterone

• Aldosterone is secreted by the Adrenal Cortex.
• Aldosterone increases reabsorption of sodium into the bloodstream in the DCT and collecting duct.
