GallBladder
Gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ that stores and releases bile. Bile is a fluid produced by the liver that helps digest the fats in food. It is located in the upper right part of our abdomen under the liver.

Structure of Gall Bladder
- Sits in an indenture underneath the right lobe of the liver.
- About one inch wide and three inches long.
- Tapered at one end where it connects the cystic duct.
- Muscular organs.
- Contracts when bile is needed, and forces the enzyme through the cystic duct.
Functions of Gall Bladder
- Stores Bile and is released into the duodenum when required.
- Absorption of water, and concentration of bile.
- The normal gall bladder also absorbs small amounts of a loose bile salt cholesterol compound.
